InSinkErator Evolution Excel 1.0 HP Garbage Disposal Review
The InSinkErator Evolution Excel 1.0 HP Garbage Disposal is a very powerful machine that can grind up just about anything you feed into it. Its powerful 1 hp motor and its MultiGrind technology makes short work of even the toughest food waste including fruit rinds, corn cobs, even chicken bones.
In addition to being extremely powerful this disposer is also very quiet. The InSinkErator Excel uses SoundSeal Plus technology, an anti vibration mount, and a Quiet Collar sink baffle to greatly reduce vibrations and sound, making this disposer more than 60% quieter than standard garbage disposals.

The Reviews:
The reviews for the InSinkErator Evolution Excel 1.0 HP Garbage Disposal are nothing short of spectacular. Of the 27 reviews we were able to find online one person gave this product a 2 star rating, two people gave it a 4 star rating and the remaining 24 people give this product a 5 star rating. 26 out of 27 reviewers give this product either 4 ore 5 stars… Fantastic!
The InSinkErator Evolution Excel is not cheap but it is money well spent because you are paying for quality. One of the reviews we found online was from someone that had family helping in the kitchen after thanksgiving dinner. This family member jammed potato skins into the garbage disposal, completely filling up its entire 40 ounce grind chamber. Did the disposer jam? Of course not, it made short work of the potato skins where an inferior disposal may have meant spending Thanksgiving day fixing a clogged sink.
This is one tough garbage disposal. One of the reviewers said that they are very hard on garbage disposals shoving in corn husks, chicken bones, rib bones, steak bones and the InSinkErator Evolution Excel 1.0 HP Garbage Disposal can handle all of this without issues.
Nearly all of the comments we found online mentioned two things, that this garbage disposal is fast and that it is quiet. So quiet in fact that many people wonder if it is even working when they switch it on.
When researching the reviews for this product online the comments really could not be better. This garbage disposal is more expensive than some others on the market but it is very powerful and durable. Many customers have been using this disposal for years and it still works great. It’s also backed by a seven year warranty. This is a quiet, powerful, rugged unit that is built to last. It is a high-end garbage disposal that is worth every penny you pay for it.

The Insinkerator Evolution Excel is simply the best!!!! This year for Thanksgiving, a guest was helping in the kitchen and put a large amount of potato peels down the disposer.
I was concerned because not only was the disposer jammed full of potato peels, but there were a bunch of peels in the sink waiting to be stuffed into the disposer. (This has happened with our old disposer and I got the privilege of trying to unclog a clogged sink – not a fun thing to do with a house full of company).
I watched her turn on the disposer and to my amazement they were all disposed of without a jam. At this point the Evolution Excel was worth every penny I paid for it.
My only complaint about this disposer is that is almost too quiet. When you turn it on, you can barely hear it run. I have to remind myself to insure it has been turned off because you get a quiet hum when it is running, not like the old disposer that was LOUD.
This is great if you have a sleeping baby, etc where you don’t want to wake up the neighbors when you run the disposer.
This is a great product for a heavy Chinese cooking family. I own it for 1 year already.
Pro:
1. It is strong and robust. It can process pineapple (skin, head), chicken bone, banana skin, rib bone (and some othe big chunk bone), onion skin.
2. It is quiet.
3. It is beautiful!
We had an InSinkErator Badger 5 that went out on us after giving us a couple years of trouble with jams, shorts, and our pipes backing up with poorly-ground food. We were sick of dealing with all the problems of a lesser model, so we went higher end in the hopes of having more power, finer ground particles of food, and fewer jams.
We did a bit of research and noticed most people actually recommends the 1 HP Waste King L-8000 Legend as the best performing disposer, but they recommended the 1 HP Evolution Excel if noise was a concern. As it turns out, we have three kids under three years old, and because of sensitivity to their napping and the fact that we could get a good deal on installation of the Evolution Excel, we opted for it over the Waste King.
The first thing I’ll point out is I’d have absolutely no qualms about running the disposer while my kids were napping. It’s as quiet as you hear in Amazon’s video, though I discovered if you have a double-bowl kitchen sink, you have to put the plug in the second bowl when the disposer is running or lose most of the benefit. The sound running through the pipes is still relatively loud.
It also feels like there may be even less vibration than our old Badger 5, which had half the power (though it was getting old)!
All in all, we love the disposer so far! You pay a premium for fine grinding, power and most of all quietness, but if that appeals to you, you’ll be happy with the Evolution Excel!

gonna send this to my mom
A while ago I bought an InSinkErator Evolution Excel at an estate auction, what a find! I was blown away once I installed it. It was a cinch to install, it has great power, and the blades are fantastic. I’ve put some things in my InSinkErator that I probably shouldn’t have and this thing has handles them with no problems.
It’s great to see quality product in today’s world and this is certainly one of them. Did I mention it’s insanely quiet also? I love this thing. I know it’s difficult to get excited about a garbage grinder but you would be surprised at the convenience and peace at mind this garbage grinder will provide.
This garbage disposal has all the greatest features, and I couldn’t be more pleased with it.
What a remarkable piece of work!! Here in Norway we are actually not allowed to install these type of kitchen appliance because of poor waste water treatment. I read that the ISE EVO 200 would ground up the waste to much smaller contents than other disposers and that made me take the chance to install one. The Evo costs 1600$ here!!! Well, it is worth it. Every single penny and I now that it won,t do any damage to the sewage system.
Thanks to Evolution 200.
happy holidays
