Garbage disposal are quite good.  Our research uncovered over 400 reviews and this garbage disposal averaged 4.5 out of 5 stars.  Many people commented that this disposer was easy to install and that it came with everything needed for the installation.  The item is reasonably priced and a number of people commented that they were able to puchase this unit online cheaper than a comparable unit could be purchased locally.

This disposer does not have the same vibration and sound dampening technology that some other disposers have but in spite of this many people stated that noise level was not really a problem.  Many people bought this unit to replace an older garbage disposal that finally gave out and they have all been very happy with their decision to go with the KitchenAid KCDB250G.

The reviews for the Insinkerator Badger 1 are, in a word… Terrible!!!  There were a handful of positive reviews with people saying things like “still going after 12 years” and saying that this disposal works great and we are very happy with it.  Unfortunately, these people are in the minority and if their Badger 1 disposal is still going strong, they must have gotten lucky.

The steel construction is supposed to make this disposal durable and corrosion resistant by a number of people report significant rust.  An alarming number of people report cracks in the casing and considerable leakage after just a year or two.  A number of people report that this product has trouble grinding things like egg shells or apples which really shouldn’t be too difficult for a garbage disposal to handle.
